They were all recruited in their respective Mosques in Northern Nigeria before travelling to war torn Libya to receive military training and drafted back to Nigeria as top members of a terrorist organisation known as Jama’atu Ansarul Muslimeena Fii Bilaa Dis Sudan also called Ansarul.
On their return they started operating from a forest base in the jungles of Birnin Gwari Kaduna State from where they go out to kidnap high profile foreigners for ransom to make money for the organisation.
Among the many people they Kidnapped were Zaid Alas a Jordanian expatriate and Isah Jabour a Syrian, who both were working for Traicta Ltd in Shiroro Niger State and were relesead after the terror group received a ransom of 120 million Naira.
A top source at the Abba Kyari led Intelligence Responce Team IRT told Guardian that the terrorist were tracked down by a covert operation that led the team to Katsina, Kaduna and Kano to fish them out from their respective hideouts.
Here are the names of the arrested suspects: “Aminu Mustapha (alias China), 23; Aminu Saidu (alias Dawud), 26; Aminu Shuaibu (alias Abu Mus’an), 33; Ishak Khalid (alias Uztaz), 30; Yusuf Abubakar (alias AY), 24; Awal Umar Tela, 34; Abubakar Isah Muhammad (alias Khalifa Abu Aisara), 25; Shuaibu Ahmadu, 25 and Abubakar Mustafa (alias Osama), 32.”
Shuaibu from Katsina, one of the suspects narrated how he got recruited, he said he met Mamoud in a Mosque in 2015 from where he was convinced and recruited to join the Ansarul terror group while thinking it was it was ‘Islamic group’
He added that they were paid 50,000 Naira monthly wages to fight in the Libya crisis before returning home.
