Imam of Peace blasts Buhari’s government for arresting Mubarak Bala for blasphemy against Mohammed

Islamic Imam Tawhidi, popularly known as the Imam of Peace had this morning taken to his verified Twitter account to blast the Buhari’s administration for ordering and arresting Mubarak Bala on charges of blasphemy against Mohammed, stating that they are the ones committing blasphemy by assuming the position of God in the society.

Recall that on the 29th day of April, the president of the Humanists Association of Nigeria (HAN), Mubarak Bala was arrested in his house in Kaduna by the Kaduna State Police command on charges of blasphemy against Mohammed. For just two days earlier, the leader was seen on Facebook comparing Prophet T.B. Joshua of the Synagogue Church of all Nations (SCOAN) to Prophet Mohammed of Saudi Arabia.

This post as expected resulted in a lot of controversies, as many threatened to take legal actions against him. And a few days later, some group of lawyers wrote a petition signed by S. S. Umar to the Kano State Police command, seeking the possible prosecution of Mubarak Bala for inciting the public. In addition to the above, on Wednesday, the 35 year old atheist was then arrested and charged for blasphemy. 

And so reacting to this, the Imam of Peace has condemned this line of action, stating that by doing so, the government has assumed the position of God and that on itself is the real blasphemy:

The government of Buhari has arrested Mubarak Bala, The President of Humanists Association of Nigeria on charges of Blasphemy. Once again Buhari and his backward henchmen assume the position of God in society and decide the fate of innocent people. Is this not blasphemy?
