An eight-year-old boy has been confirmed dead after his own mother allegedly poisoned him.

This 20-year-old lady identified as Murja Ibrahim has since been taken into custody by the police in Katsina state.

The incident was confirmed in a statement by the spokesperson of the Katsina state police command, Gambo Isah.

According to him, the incident occurred on June 19, and it was the father of the child who made this report at the police station.

He further stated that the suspect has been arrested and is assisting the police in their investigation.
